In a natural and oppressive environment that Man never seems to have altered, TEPHRA tells in images a contemporary mythology of the volcano: the one embodied by a collective female body, half-child, half-nymph. In contrast to the figure of the hero, her resilient behavior in the face of possible danger is personified by boredom, gentleness, mutual aid, ritual and acceptance of a future that is as peaceful as it is disturbing.
