Andrew Michael Ellis

Function
Director

Andrew uses film as a celebration of life and a weapon against injustice. With Cinematography as his native tongue, he does this through education, community building, and self expression. His films have been featured at Sundance, South By Southwest, CNN and Time Magazine. This year he was named “multimedia Photographer of the Year” by Pictures of the Year International. Previously, Andrew taught Cinematography at NYU, and later used his passion for teaching to create educational workshops for the underserved Latino community near his hometown in Los angeles, California. Through his arts collective Nomadique, Andrew has brought together artists from all over the world to participate in group art exhibits, and hosted an artist workshop dinner at his home in Brooklyn every month for the past 3 years.
