
Born and raised in Italy, Francesco graduates from London Contemporary Dance School in 2013, to then join Scottish Dance Theatre as company dancer, where he works on creations by international choreographers such as Damien Jalet, Anton Latchky, Botis Seva, Fleur Darkin. He later covers the role of Project Rehearsal Director for the company, whilst freelancing across UK and Europe. He performs for productions like ‘Planet [wanderer]’ and ‘Vessel’ by Damien Jalet and Kohei Nawa, ‘Cents Mille Façons de Parler’ by Maqamat, ‘Danse Macabre!’ by Jacopo Jenna, ‘Inlet’ by Saeed Hani, ‘Carmen’ by Jose Agudo and ‘ANIMA’, Netflix production directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and choreographed by Damien Jalet. His collaboration with Fleur Darkin develops towards their co-creation of ‘Ithaca’, which is presented as a work in progress in Milan, London, St Andrews and Glasgow. With theatre director Fabio Cherstich, Francesco performs in ‘Six Acts- My Circuit’ for Milan Design Week, and most recently, in ’30 Blizzards’, site-specific work conceived by artist Helen Marten, in collaboration with Miu Miu at Palais de Iéna in Paris. As part of ‘Venere in Teatro’ festival in Venice, he shows his first solo work ‘Hide and Reveal’, of which a live-set version has been recently presented in Milan, in collaboration with Scottish-Portuguese sound artist and musician SHHE. Maqamat is a dance company that was established in Beirut in 2002 by Omar Rajeh and moved to Lyon in 2020 in the perspective of developing its creative and cultural projects in France and internationally. It played a major role in the organization, creation and establishment of a contemporary dance scene in Lebanon and the region. It has founded major dance projects such as BIPOD-Beirut International Platform of Dance, Takween, an intensive training program, Moultaqa Leymoun, a showcase platform supporting artists from different Arab countries and more recently the digital platform Citerne.live.
