Maurice Louca

Maurice Louca is one of the most exciting artists on the alternative music scene in the Arab world today. He spent two years producing Salute the Parrot, his most original and accomplished work to date. His musical touch, characterized by a whirlwind of percussion, is based on homogeneous rhythms and entangled layers that weave a coherent composition. He regularly collaborates with Compagnie 7273 and composed the music for Today (2017) and Nuit (2019). In Sur l'île de Darsheen (2020), he is on stage with Nicolas Cantillon, alongside the musicians Sir Richard Bishop and Simphiwe Tshabalala.
