Khalid Benghrib
Khalid Benghrib is a performer, choreographer, and pedagogue whose career has taken him from the medina of Casablanca to the Conservatory of La Rochelle. His journey has been shaped by encounters with renowned artists such as Colette Milner, Regine Chopinot, Christine Gerard, Didier Deschamps, Carolyn Carlson, Philippe Genty, Heddy Maalem, Jean-François Duroure, and through unique experiences, such as a project on the war in Bosnia with Fabienne Abramovich, and collaborations with Ariella Vidach and Claudio Pratti on movement and new technologies, in partnership with the Swiss Film Centre.
Khalid’s evolution as a performer has merged with his role as a pedagogue, particularly through his creation of the "Dance at School" program in France, in collaboration with national education authorities and the DRAC. This initiative led to the establishment of a graduate diploma for the "Dance" option and an AFDAS training course in Nièvre, in collaboration with Philippe Genty.
The first edition of Urban Dance at La Villette with Jean-François Duroure paved the way for his choreography Hieroglyphis. His work has also led to workshops and masterclasses in cities around the world, including Paris, Lyon, Turin, Nagoya, Cairo, London, Vienna, Casablanca, Rabat, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, and many more.
As a choreographer, Khalid Benghrib has signed several productions such as Tolati, Commun Désaccord, La Summa, Western Palace, The Smala B.B., Marrakech Toys, Agnaw Trilogy, Pavia-k, Saâdia, Obscur Windows, and Jonas. His works have been shown on numerous international platforms, including Washington, Nagoya, Brussels, Antwerp, Paris, St. Etienne, Annemasse, Rouen, Annecy, Le Havre, Tunis, Cairo, Beirut, Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, and many others.
In parallel, Khalid Benghrib has explored cinema through the realization of three short experimental films (3Suites#06), which have been showcased at various festivals, including L'Ecran de St Denis, Les Courts de Clermont-Ferrand, and film festivals in Tangier, Azrou, Casablanca, Brussels, and Zurich.
