Lucien Arino

Function

After a full training as a dancer and a career as a professional dancer in France and Germany, Lucien resumed his studies in order to switch to events planning and cultural management. He holds a BA from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, in Arabic and Business Management, and a Master’s degree from the University of Lyon 2 - Lumière. He was a cultural operator in Egypt for more than ten years, where he held several positions: he founded Centre Rézodanse Egypte in 2008 and managed this organisation until 2017 ; meanwhile he was the general manager of Farah el Bahr Festival (Anna Lindh Foundation) from 2011 to 2013, co-founded then co-directed the Nassim el Raqs site-specific contemporary creation festival from 2011 to 2015, and was a resident instructor within the professional training program of the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center (Karima Mansour) from 2012 to 2015. Since September 2017, he works at VIADANSE - Centre chorégraphique national de Bourgogne Franche-Comté in Belfort, directed by Héla Fattoumi and Eric Lamoureux. He is the Executive Director of VIADANSE since January 2021.
