In NOCTURNE REQUIEM, the different parts of the liturgy of a Requiem, are replaced by new and personal scenes, full of songs and dances inspired by the choreographic and filmic universe of Bob Fosse. A ritualistic experience between legacy and parody, humour and tenderness, to reflect on the beauty of death. A nocturne cabaret, full of camp and glitter, to celebrate the act of dying and the inherent disappearance of any act of creation. Photo by Tristán Pérez-Martín

The Artist

Pere Faura graduated from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam in 2006, with a piece that won the ITS Festival Award. That same year he entered as a resident choreographer at Frascati Theater in Amsterdam and in 2009 received the prestigious Charlotte Kohler Price. In 2011 he graduated from the Amsterdam Master of Choreography and returned to Barcelona where he continued developing his artistic work. The work is mainly focused on appropriating elements of pop culture to transform them into new choreographic material and presented in a multidisciplinary choreography with all the elements that are part of the theatrical machinery.
