How it works

Is where you can explore and discover all the artistic and cultural events that will be live streamed. The events are listed individually in chronological date and time. If an event belongs to a festival or a specific program then it will be tagged with the name of the program/festival. You can search for events with specific categories, organizers, artists, or cities.

The listing in this page highlights the full program of different cultural institutions and/or festivals. Moreover, it highlights the cities where different events are taking place. From this page you can also access the individual city pages to discover other previous and future events that are, or were, programmed in the city. This pages highlights the full program of a festival or program and maintain its artistic vision and focus. Users will be able to access the festivals or specific programs and discover the performances, workshops, talks, and other activities of a festival or a cultural institution.

Each person mentioned on the Platform will have an individual page with a short biography and links to the artistic events, workshops, talks that s/he participated in. Not only artists are highlighted but also the wider community of people working around a performance, event or festival.

It aims, at the same time, to provide transformative experiences through dance, and to expand the public's enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of dance. We aim to present new and original works, and to promote the access of culture in a global perspective. Our mission is to imagine an engaged role for culture that empowers, and inspires our human values. Barcelona

Bird Dog is a (danced) road movie, a trip that alters the perspective of the participant’s daily life, driving them to question their cultural identity. The journey happens live, it is not pre-recorded, an ephemeral act taking place in the streets of Tokyo, Lisbon, Washington DC and The Hague - a site specific piece. Four performers connected through their devices, sharing a physical and sensorial experience to produce internal alterations: the body moving the spirit. The celebration of a passage: a remote ritual to transform their perception of the public space and engender a community of resonance, capable to experience harmony and common rhythm. Brots Transhumants is an artistic documentary created and edited live during an artistic transhumance. The artists propose a journey in a territory, along which they will react with what they are encountering; people and places, building a unique experience. BRUMA / NET is an audio-visual poem, which is created live for online audiences. A networked performance in which different disciplines are combined: dance, music, photography, video and literature.
BRUMA / NET #18 is proposed by Mercat de les Flors and will be performed live specifically for Citerne. Five women: two dancers, one visual performer, one musician and one video producer will compose in a shared digital space, performing live over the network from different locations in Barcelona. Cossoc is a hypnotic choreography filled with suggestive images of what two bodies in constant balance can do. A movement research about the complexity and simplicity of a relation. An integration with the surroundings, leading on a path of calming down and listening. Through the eye of the filmmaker, Ignasi Castañé, the work offers a combination of striking visual images of the two bodies in constant conversation at the deserted landscapes of Castell de Sant Ferran. A dance film based on the Passion of Christ.
We see how the soul leaves its body in the form of a flying jacket, but returns to merge in a dance of transubstantiation. As when we are pushed until we lose our balance and, stumbling, the steps have become a "scratched bulería" to recover the vertical axis. We have arrived, together, in a new space-time.

La Hora de la Despedida

Through a dialogue between movement and landscape, Lazarus reflects on the objectification of the woman body in film. The famous quote by Edgar Allan Poe "the death of a beautiful woman is, unquestionably, the most poetical topic in the world" triggers a succession of falls and recoveries that escape the poetic by trying too hard to find it.

'Parrà' is the old Catalan conjugation of the verbal form "will appear". “Parrà expresses duality in tradition: root and structure. A dialogue between voice and movement, ruralism and contemporaneity, form and change. Through the review of musical pieces such as “El cant de la Sibil·la” (Mallorca) or dances such as “Stella Splendens” ( The Red Book of Montserrat) we find -at the origin of these pagan practices- opportunities of expression that challenge us for its beauty. Rastrofonías explores the choreographic and plastic relationships between sound, body and architecture. The body is guided by invisible sound phenomena through the passageways of a museum. Dragged by the architectural psychophonies where space changes its concrete forms to emanate other landscapes, the body slides into unknown modes of perception, returning in a loop to its own internal space of listening.

How can water excavate marble? In search of a stable identity through the flow of existence, SOURCE was born. This short film, performed and directed by artist Guido Sarli, captures the contrast between the human body and a travertine quarry. A natural space that has been modified by humans and somehow it is still looking for a new identity. While water and rocks tell their own story, the dancer inhabits the space of the quarry with lightness and respect - it has already been heavily affected by human intervention. Jungla is the film created from the show with the same name where you see bodies that are camouflaged, bodies that shine, float, bounce, stretch and constantly change. On a trip through this ecosystem, all kinds of creatures, shapes, colours and sounds might appear.

Mercat says goodbye to the year with an extensive and varied programming of video dance films. Some of the works have been co-produced by Mercat de les Flors and have been presented throughout the season on Citerne.live. Other finalist and winning pieces from video dance festivals in which the Mercat has participated are also added. Now we have a new and unique opportunity to enjoy them with this compilation of the season.
These pieces can be seen in the same pack (which will cost € 8) from 12 noon on Tuesday, December 28 until 12 midnight on Wednesday, December 29.

2020 marque le 45e anniversaire de la fin de la dictature franquiste en Espagne et le 75e anniversaire de la fin de la dictature national-socialiste en Allemagne. En coopération avec son collègue espagnol Jordi Cortés Molina et le vidéaste Jürgen Salzmann, la chorégraphe Gerda König évoque les traumatismes de leurs deux nations, qui, très concrètement, sont apparus dans des camps et des prisons strictement cachés, les «caves de la société». Dans ce NOCTURNE REQUIEM, les différentes parties de la liturgie originale d'un Requiem sont remplacées par des scènes, des chants et des danses créés à partir de l'univers chorégraphique et personnel de Bob Fosse, unis par une théâtralité interdisciplinaire où mouvement, parole, musique et vidéo dansent ensemble en une chorégraphie pour 10 interprètes et 2 musiciens live. Une expérience rituelle entre héritage et parodie, entre humour et tendresse, pour réfléchir à la beauté de la mort et transformer l'acte de mourir en un cabaret plein de camp et de paillettes.

In her new creation, Eulàlia Bergadà faces the challenges of transferring into movement the forms originally devised and created from the body and from emotion. Through movement, music and words, Bergadà will question choreographic and compositional weavings and her way of understanding dance as an intangible form.
