Lorenz Jack Chaillat-Cavaillé
Lorenz Jack Chaillat-Cavaillé lives and works in Paris. An art historian specializing in gender studies, he is a dancer, performer and choreographer. Since her participation in the projects of Tatiana Julien (DANCING MUSEUMS, "Pray not to destroy", "The Ephemeral City of Dance", "Death and Ecstasy") and Tino Sehgal (carte blanche at the Palais de Tokyo, These Associations), he directs his collective and personal projects towards performance, visual arts and choreography. He participates and collaborates in various projects alongside dancers and visual artists such as Célia Gondol, Gwendoline Perrigueux, Dalila Dalléas Bouzar, Sharon Alfasi, Tony Regazzoni, Emmanuel Guillaud, Félix Gonzàles Torres, Aurore-Caroline Marty... He considers his body as a discursive territory of multiple identities and orients his choices towards committed projects that combine post-colonial reflections, queer theory and popular culture. Since 2017, he co-directs the SUZANNE group based in Paris with Eurydice Gougeon-Marine, Julien Chaudet and Julien Deransy and pursues multiple collaborations with artists with multiple and hybrid practices. SUZANNE
SUZANNE est un groupe de danse et de performance basé à Paris depuis 2018 et co-dirigé par Lorenz Jack Chaillat-Cavaillé, Julien Chaudet, Julien Deransy et Eurydice Gougeon-Marine. Évoluant aussi bien dans l’art contemporain que dans l’art vivant, le groupe SUZANNE crée des œuvres performatives et chorégraphiques qui tendent à explorer différents formats : de la boîte noire au white cube, de la scène à l’espace public, de la vidéo à l’objet plastique, de la photographie à l’écriture. SUZANNE trouve son identité et ses moyens d’expression dans une qualité de mouvement minimaliste, qui met l’accent sur la précision d’exécution remettant ainsi en question le présupposé improductif de l’erreur d’interprétation, la fatigue et les limites psychologiques de ses interprètes. La beauté des corps est révélée par une gestuelle ancrée dans le familier, la sobriété, la réflexion grâce à l’utilisation du protocole comme principe d’action inhérent à chaque création.
