About

For the 17th edition of BIPOD- Beirut International Platform of Dance, Maqamat company invites cultural partners in 8 different countries to co-curate and co-organize 'Architecture of a Ruined Body'. This cultural project gathers artists, festivals and cultural venues in the Mediterranean and across Europe in order to question the body’s remaining possibilities, vulnerabilities, resilience or revolt, and simply its being in moments of crisis. It is an attempt to acknowledge that the world we live in is in a phase of global transformation and change. After the shocking social, political, and health incidents of 2019 & 2020, it seems inevitable that culture is at the forefront to question and be questioned, to explore and be explored, to renew thought and be renewed. BIPOD 2021 | Architecture of a Ruined Body is organized from 16 May until 27 June in cooperation with Allianz Kulturstiftung, CND/Lyon, CCN Bourgogne Franche-Comté à Belfort/ Viadanse, Les Subsistances, Taldans, Menhir, Sareyyet Ramallah, Dan.Cin.Lab, Egomio Cultural Centre, and Rézodanse.
